So, I was on the American Girl website on December 31st, as I am every year waiting for the new Girl of the Year Doll. At midnight central time, I went to the shopping site to see the doll, but there were other new dolls... Truly Me BOY Dolls! I've wanted this since like, 2012! Although, back then, they were called My American Girl. When Logan Everett was released last year, I was excited, because Logan looks like me but my eyes are green and my hair doesn't do that weird swishy thingy. Anyway, Truly Me also got a new outfit last year. I love the new meet outfit, although I was a bit disappointed when I discovered that they don't come with any activities or anything. Since 1995, when they were called American Girl of Today, they came with something. whether it were meet books, a C.D., Charm Necklace, or Activity Spinner, (Skylar came with the Lilac Dress and Activity Spinner) there was always a little something extra, but now the dolls don't come with anything! And now they're $115 whereas they used to be like $80. The stock photo for #23 isn't as nice, it doesn't show her flip anymore. On the right is My American Girl #23 which I really liked the Meet Outfit for. the My AG Meet is what I'm used to, as it was back when there was the website where you could choose a doll and see what outfits looked good on her. I vaguely remember seeing #23, but I only liked #57 back then. So, do you like the new Truly Me Outfit? I'd love to hear! Question of the Day: Who's your Fav AG Doll? My Favorite is #4. 'til Next Time! - JCole photo credit: American Girl
Meet Kaila and Becca, 2 very loved Modern Girls Dolls. They belong to my friends who live down the street from me. Becca was purchased from a Walmart, where Kaila was rescued from a yard sale. Kaila was attacked by Katniss, (a dog, NOT the book character) resulting in the loss of her fingers. As you can see, Kaila has some serious issues with her hair. Becca only needed a good hair brushing, which I provided. Kaila had a more serious and gentle hair brushing, one section at a time, brushing from the bottoms up. After brushing, I curled her hair by twisting and holding for 5 seconds. I think I did a good job, although the curls in the back were a bit rushed. I then gave Kaila's owner some hair tips, and I went home. This is the start of a Doll Hair & Care series I'm doing. If you need any Doll care tips, feel free to ask!
