Joss Time Joss Time Joss Time!

So, yesterday, my 8 year old sister received her first American Girl Doll for her birthday! The doll she received was Joss Kendrick, Girl of the Year 2020. So you can expect to see some pictures of her soon. Joss is the second GotY to receive a unique face mold since Jess in 2006. Huh. Jess, Joss. Jess Joss Jess Joss! Very similar names, although Jess's full name is Jess while Joss Is short for Jocelyn. They are the only Girl of the Years to introduce a new face. The historical characters usually get to do that. On the left is the Joss Mold, with the Jess mold on the right.
You can't see it in the photo, but Joss's teeth are actually only painted into the mouth. all of the other dolls have molded teeth as a guide in the mouth, which are painted white.

I noticed that Joss's body fabric was different then that of my Felicity doll. her head and limbs move easily and quietly. Felicity's body fabric is a cheaper material, and her head and limbs squeak LOUDLY when moved. Joss also has her neck stamp (American Girl ©) placed very low on her neck than on other dolls. Overall, Joss is an amazing doll, and my sister is fascinated with her. She loves telling everybody about her hearing aid, and how she can only hear in her right ear when she's wearing it, and how she's completely deaf in her left ear.

Quick question: who's your favorite Girl of the Year? Mine is Mia St. Clair, from 2008, although Luciana Vega from 2018 is a very close second. Do you own any of the GotY's? I don't, but my sister has Joss.
